New capability helps EHS professionals evaluate whether regulatory requirements may apply to their organizations
BRENTWOOD, TN, UNITED STATES, October 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — BLR today announced a new Regulation Assessment for EHS Hero®, designed to help environmental, health, and safety professionals synthesize regulatory requirements, evaluate whether regulations apply to their organizations, and establish an action plan for compliance.
Determining regulatory applicability can require EHS teams to consider an organization’s operations and other business-specific factors alongside the requirements of individual regulations. The new EHS Hero capability uses AI to bring this information together with BLR’s own proprietary regulatory activity content to determine applicability.
To begin, users enter their organization’s domain. EHS Hero uses that information to generate an organizational profile based on the company’s jurisdictions and operations. Once the profile is generated, it provides company-specific context that can be used when evaluating regulations.
Within the assessment modal, users can also access a high-level summary and key dates, an applicability evaluation and action plan, important definitions, and links to full regulation text for deeper research.
When the available organizational information is not sufficient to complete the assessment, users can engage with an AI assistant to provide further context, ask additional questions, or walk through canned prompts to help with compliance planning.
“Understanding a regulatory change is only part of the compliance process. EHS professionals also need to evaluate whether a requirement applies to their organization and what may require further attention,” said Ross Fox, Director of Product at BLR. “This capability is designed to give users a more structured way to work through that evaluation within EHS Hero.”
EHS Hero is BLR’s environmental, health, and safety platform, combining regulatory and compliance resources, safety training, and EHS management tools to help organizations manage safety and environmental programs.
The Regulatory Applicability Assessment expands EHS Hero’s existing regulatory compliance capabilities, which provide access to regulatory activity, state-specific compliance requirements, customizable safety plans, comprehensive instructor-led training presentations, and other tools to monitor and respond to changing EHS requirements.
By incorporating organizational context into the regulatory review process, the new capability is intended to help users focus their compliance review on requirements relevant to their operations while retaining access to the underlying regulatory information.
