Versaterm Advances Drone Response with Native FAA LAANC Airspace Authorization Integration

Versaterm DroneSense now uses Versaterm Aloft’s native FAA airspace authorization, giving Drone as First Responder programs one less step between dispatch and launch
MESA, Ariz., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Versaterm, a leading provider of public safety technology solutions, announces the integration of Versaterm Aloft’s airspace authorization capabilities into Versaterm DroneSense, its comprehensive drone operations solution. This integration enables public safety agencies to request and receive FAA Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) airspace authorizations directly within Versaterm DroneSense, without manual FAA coordination or separate applications.

The result is a single connected call response workflow that unifies CAD dispatch, drone operations and FAA airspace compliance. This streamlined approach reduces coordination time and removes operational barriers, allowing agencies to respond more quickly to emergency situations in controlled airspace near airports. Agencies can now manage time-critical missions including search and rescue and tactical response with near-real-time authorization processing and automatic compliance reporting.
“Readiness shouldn’t depend on how many systems a pilot can juggle under pressure,” said Steve Seoane, CEO at Versaterm. “Agencies should never have to choose between flying fast and flying legally, but the workflow has made it feel that way. This integration puts authorization where the pilot already is, so getting cleared is part of launching, not a step before it.”
The integration builds on Versaterm’s strategic acquisitions of DroneSense in July 2025 and Aloft in February 2026. Versaterm DroneSense is now an FAA-approved LAANC Secondary Data Service Provider through its connection with Versaterm Aloft, the leading FAA-approved UAS Service Supplier (USS), processing the majority of LAANC authorizations. Versaterm DroneSense customers will gain access to these new LAANC capabilities as part of their existing subscriptions at no additional cost.
“LAANC continues to enable safe and efficient integration of unmanned aircraft into the national airspace system,” said an FAA spokesperson. “Partnerships like this one demonstrate how technology can support public safety operations while maintaining the safety and security of the airspace.”
